The hell with all these stupied comments. We are who we are. How does anyone know what people have gone through in their life. Try being tortured!

I think it is an individual issue and anyone making blanket pronouncements is going to possibly lose out, just like blanket pronouncements re race, height, weight, what part of the city you live in, etc. Isn’t it all the same thing – a prejudice and assumption about the person based on demographics?
I did not finish college. I significantly outearned my previous husband and my current one as well. No big deal to me, but I found a niche that is well compensated and I am very good at it. A family member just got her master’s – in a field that pays very poorly but she loves it. Her fiance did not finish school but has a niche job that pays very well and he will always out-earn her and be ‘the main provider’ (if that term is even used anymore). My daughter and her friends who went to an ivy school are all indie-types who are so intellectual and pretentious that they are insufferable and practically unfit for the regular workforce (outside of the service industry).
There just is NOT a formula when you are dealing with human beings.
